Every community has its share of those on hard times that need a little helping hand and Delaware, Ohio, is no different. But when it comes to offering that helping hand Common Ground Free Store Ministries is amazing.
The faith-based organization survives on donations and volunteers as it provides a warm meal and the essentials for community residents. The essentials include anything from clothing to personal hygiene items.
The non-profit was founded in 2006 and has grown to include two stores, a volunteer base of more than 1200 people and serving more than 100 patrons every time the store was open in pre-covid times. Of course, the pandemic didn’t see the needs go away, just that the store had to change it style layout and meal preperation.
The main location is at 193 East Central Avenue on the city’s east side, while the south location is in the Press Church Outreach Center at 425 South Sandusky Street Suite 3.
Common Ground Free Store primary location is open Monday and Tuesday from 6 – 8:30 p.m. and Thursday and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. The South Store is open Saturday from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. for shopping only. Donations are only accepted at the primary store.
