Aldi Opening Third Delaware County Location

Aldi grocery stores have announced plans to open its third location in Delaware County, Ohio, when it opens on Sawmill Road in Powell, Ohio.

The location is in the former Discount Drug Mart at 9963 Sawmill Parkway and will bookend the shopping center with Advanced Auto Parts with a variety of businesses located between – with a single vacancy.

Aldi’s other two Delaware County locations are along Sunbury Road (Routes 36 and 37) east of Delaware, Ohio, and on US – 23 in Lewis Center, Ohio.

Health District Adds Powell, Liberty Twp Plumbing Inspections

If you are remodeling or building a home in Powell or Liberty Township the plumbing inspection process is about to change effective January 1 when the Delaware County General Health District takes it over.

changes coming to powell , liberty township plumbing processThe Health District began issuing plumbing permits for Liberty Township on December 17. Previously, Powell and Liberty Township plumbing permits were administered by the City of Powell.

“The City felt this was a great time to transition the plumbing permit process to the Health District and looks forward to working with them on providing this service,” said City Manager Steve Lutz.

“We are excited to begin this different process of serving our community,” added Health Commissioner Shelia Hiddleson.

The Health District Plumbing Unit inspects new plumbing in residential and public buildings and medical gas installations in Delaware County except in the cities of Columbus, Dublin and Westerville.

Three office condominium suites were purchased for $1,080,000 by Meritra Real Estate Holdings LLC this week to lead Delaware County real estate transfers.

Meritra Real Estate Holdings LLC is part of the Meritra Medical brand, which has two clinics and its corporate offices in Westerville, Ohio. The purchase was for suite A1, B1, and G2 which encompasses 6,576 square feet according to Delaware County Auditors figures.

In all, 91 valid sales were completed in Delaware County last week with the average being just under $321,500. Beyond Antares Avenue, the top sales were 4616 Village club Drive in Powell for $690,000; 1794 Shade in Delaware for $653,548; and 9600 Fair Oaks Drive in Powell for $598,000.

    Delaware County Real Estate Transfers This Week

    ARJ Landcapes new location on State Route 36 in Condit is the top commercial transaction this week. Lots of updates by new owner since this 2009 Delaware County Auditor photo was taken.

    It was a slower week than normal with only 82 units changing hands in Delaware County, Ohio, this past week. However, the volume didn’t mean lower values with the average sale price staying above $300,000.

    The majority of properties to transfer this week were single-family homes or land dedicated to single-family homes at 92% of the total sales, while condos accounted for 5% of the sales and commercial was 2%.

    ARJ Landscapes purchased the property they’ve been using at 3752 Condit Road in rural Sunbury, Ohio, this week. The property, zoned as a car-lot, is being used as the landscape company’s home base. The company specializes in, according to its Web site, “after serving the greater Columbus Ohio Area for over 25 years specializing in patio pavers, fire pits, and more. We have evolved into the leader in Hardscape and Outdoor Living Environments, we have evolved into the leader in the landscaping industry.”

    • The highest-priced commercial property was the sale of property zoned as a car lot at 3752 Condit Road in rural Sunbury, Ohio for $202,500. The Trenton Township property is 7.5 acres with a 960 square foot building and was financed by Richwood Banking Company.

    It was an amazing week in Delaware County real estate with 182 valid transfers during the week.

    It was more than $55 million in transfers — or an average of $293,542 per transfer — ranging from $0 all the way up to just under $804,000.

    The top selilng property at 1333 Guilford Road in rural Delaware, Ohio, is a new-build on just over 1/2-acre.

    The beautiful home at 6605 Brodie Road in Concord Township – Dublin address – transferred for $684,900. The Tartan Fields home, built in 2008, has 4 bedrooms, 2-1/2 bathrooms with 4,021 square foot above grade.
