West-side location competes with McDonalds for growing area fast-food market
Construction was fast and the new Burger King at 1034 West Central Avenue opened without much fanfare last week on Delaware, Ohio‘s west-side.
The location, owned by Carrols Corp., is about 2,980 square-feet and constructed on 1.14 acres according to a February article in the Delaware Gazette. The location is just west of the new First Commonwealth Bank and Panera location near the former Buehler’s grocery store.
A turn lane will be added off Central Avenue into the private drive that also is the access for Ace Hardware among other businesses. The closest lighted intersection is Buehler and Central on the other side of Panera.
The opening ends a McDonalds monopoly on the west side for fast food franchises that dates back to at least 2002.
