Downtown Delaware Honored With Award
Recently, the City of Delaware received an unexpected honor when the Ohio chapter of the American Planning Association announced downtown was one of the “Great Places in Ohio.”
The city was one of 12 Ohio locations to be honored for its vibrant and rebounding energy after a tough couple of decades in the 1980-1990s. Through thoughtful planning and more than $5,000,000 in local and federal money the community was able to revitalize its downtown at a time when most were crying “foul” over Wal-Mart emerging in their local market.
We’ve been in Delaware for 17 years and we can honestly say that it is the small-town values with the big-town amenities that keep us living here.
