Ms. O, our four-year-old daughter, loves going to story and dance times at the Delaware County District Library’s main branch in historic downtown Delaware, Ohio.
Unfortunately, the pandemic has eliminated the majority of the library’s programs since March 2020 for obvious reasons. Always working to bring the Library’s events to the community they have created a toddler virtual dance party.
The toddler dance party is Thursday, February 4, from 6:30 – 7 p.m. on Zoom. Ms. O took part in the January event and truly enjoyed herself. Dancing and bouncing around the room with about 15 of her “friends.”
Materials to grab before joining the Zoom:
- A scarf.
- A washcloth, doll blanket, or just an old piece of fabric will work! We will be tossing the fabric in the air and shaking it as we dance.
- Rhythm sticks.
- Toy drumsticks, large serving spoons, or even pencils will work! We will tap these two items together to help us learn rhythm and build early literacy skills.
Register to be a part of this interactive, virtual dance party that focuses on Early Literacy and builds fine and gross motor skills! Pre-registration is required and closes on Wednesday, February 3. The information to log in to the Zoom meeting will be sent soon after.
Delaware County District Library main branch is located at 84 East Winter Street in historic Delaware, Ohio. The library is open for curbside delivery of books and virtual classes at this time.
