It was cold and icy when I made the trek to the Food Truck Depot to pick up some of the nationally-acclaimed Cousins Maine Lobster when the food truck visited Delaware, Ohio, recently.
I had the famous Lobster Roll done in “Connecticut” style which was Maine lobster served warm with butter and lemon on a New England roll. By comparison the “Maine” style is served chilled with a touch of mayo on a New England roll. I added a New England Clam Chowder to the mix as well.
Gretchen got the lobster tacos which came with cabbage, Pico de Gallo, cilantro lime sauce on a flour tortilla. Mrs. Olivia had the cheese quesadilla with tater tots.
The food was fresh and made to order and with the ability to order from their app, we were limited in the amount of time I got to enjoy in the blustery cold Delaware weather on a Sunday morning. Portions were smaller than we expected for the price but understand that getting fresh lobster to Ohio from Maine is not cheap nor easy. It was a great experience, not sure we’d choose it again but glad we did this time.
In addition to Maine Lobster Food Truck, we also recently discussed Scratch Italian Fare as a truck to visit at the Food Truck Depot.
The Maine Lobster Food Truck’s location can be found on their Web site and looks like they will be in Lewis Center, Ohio, on Saturday, March 20, from 5:30 – 7 p.m. Another exciting note is that Cousins Maine Lobster will open its first Ohio restaurant at Budd Dairy Food Hall, a Cameron Mitchell project, at 1086 North Fourth Street in Columbus on April 6, 2021!
