In a Kroger shopping center along Sawmill Parkway in northern Franklin County is one of the best noodle places in Columbus, Ohio.
Noodle Topia pre-pandemic was a fascnating place to visit. As you walked in you could literally watch the pulled noodles being made as you walked down the entry way into the large seating area. There are communal tables along with private booths. (Of course during Covid-19 protocol the communal table is closed and the normally open and airy booths are closed in to allow for seating distances to be observed.
For an appetizer, I usually start with the Green Onion Pie ($4.99) which is two Chinese-style pancakes with green onions. Very eggy and dipped in soy sauce very-very yummy. For this visit I went with the Spicy and Sour Beef and Noodle Soup ($9.99) which is spicy and sour beef broth, beef shank, Chinese sauerkraut and cilantro. One thing to remember is when Noodle Topia marks it “hot” they aren’t just playing. It was good but my sinuses were cleared for several weeks after from the spices.
This is a favorite stop of mine and I’m always excited when I’m in the Sawmill and I-270 area around lunch time to stop in and try something new.
